The Philadelphia Union Youth PPP forms showcase teams that are comprised of the top youth players from across the region at the U8-U14 age groups.
These showcase teams will compete in national and international events. Player pools are established through our club affiliates recommendations identification centers and PPP ID Camp.
Players can move in and out of the player pool based on their current form. Showcase team coaches have the final say in which players make the roster for any particular event. Our technical director is heavily involved in the program as an assistant for each team.
To be eligible for the Union Youth PPP program player must have participated in a camp, clinic or training program and recommended by a Union Youth coach.
The Philadelphia Union Youth Player Pathway Program (PPP) and Player Development Program (PDP) are designed to provide high-level training and development opportunities to competitive and advanced youth players looking for supplemental training outside their club schedule; as well as, becoming a part of the identification process for the Philadelphia Union Academy.
Our Union Youth PPP and PDP are split into two programs. The PPP is geared for high performance players who compete, train and/or coached at an advanced level. The PDP provides a developmental training envionrment focused on technique and game understanding for player aspired to play at a more challenging level. Our mission is to ensure that individuals committed to their development have every resource and opportunity to train and compete at a high level.
Both programs are open to all boys and girls ages U8-U14. Our professionally-staffed program consists of age-appropriate training aligned with the Union Academy curriculum and methodology. Our goalkeeping training is typically offered on same night.
The Union PPP is a year around program that is offered in the fall, winter, spring and summer season.
Philadelphia Union Player Pathway Program (PPP) provides year round high-level, player-centered training focused on enhancing a player's development and game understanding.
Players participating in the PPP program will receive a comprehensive player evaluation upon the conclusion of the program. Each evaluation provides feedback on a player's ongoing development and ability under the Union methodology.

How can I make the Philadelphia Union Youth Player Pathway Program?
Players are scouted from U8-U14. The program takes recommendations from a club affiliate director or a Philadelphia Union Youth coach to form the pool of players for each age group. The group is constantly evolving and players come and go as the team ages up. Making the Union Youth PPP does not mean a player will always be involved and players can be added to the group at any time.
What is the difference between Player Pathway Program (PPP) and Player Development Program (PDP)?
Player Pathway Program (PPP): This program is geared for high performance players who compete, train and/or coached at an advanced level.
Player Development Program (PDP): The PDP provides a developmental training envionrment focused on technique and game understanding for player aspired to play at the highest level.
